It is very good opportunity to visit Bauhaus architecture by Iwao Yamawahi who studied at Bauhaus in Germany. The house was built as an atelier for Koutaro Migishi who was an oil painter.
In July 1934 Koutaro died of stomach ulcers in Nagoya, but the atelier was completed in October 1934 and was used as an atelier for Koutaro’s wife Setsuko who was also an oil painter.
In 2014, the atelier was registered as a national tangible cultural asset and in 2017 it was listed on DOCOMOMO-Japan Selection.
